We recently reported on the Banyan Tree’s first hot springs resort opening a spa in southwestern China, and now its sister brand is following suit. Angsana debuted its eighth spa, Angsana Spa Tengchong • Hot Spring Village, located in the western part of the Yunnan province. Adjacent to the Tengchong Wetland Nature Reserve, guests can enjoy the stunning scenery and tropical climate while indulging in the all-natural geothermal pools and signature spa treatments.
On property is a three-story Hot Spring Center with an 183,000-square-foot outdoor hot spring area featuring 43 different themed mineral-based hot spring pools, steam rooms, and volcanic hot stone lounge chairs. Incorporating local flowers and fruits, the Asian-inspired treatments emphasize aromatherapy and utilize both eastern and western techniques.
One of the award-winning spa’s most popular packages is the Rainmist Experience. It features a Rainmist Steam Bath and Rain Shower, and is available for 60 minutes with a black tea body polish and conditioner with steam bath, and for 120 minutes with a jasmine frangipani scrub and a body massage.
Another signature service of the hot springs destination is the 150-minute Angsana Zen treatment which includes an Angsana Massage using a body scrub and honey milk pouch body conditioning cream and complete with a soothing bath with the choice of lavender, orange or citronella aromatherapy scents. Ayurvedic massage, facials, reflexology, body palming and hand treatments can also be found on the extensive spa menu.
