Capella Pedregal has reason to celebrate other than the ball dropping this New Year’s—the property has been named #1 Hotel in Cabo, Mexico by Travel + Leisure for the third year in a row, along with making the “Top 50 Hotels in the World” list. If that wasn’t enough, Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List recognized Capella Pedregal as one of the “World’s Best Beach Hotels.”
What truly sets Capella Pedregal apart is the attention to detail and the high-levels of personalized serviced based on the Capella zeitgeist,” said Horst Schulze, CEO and Chairman, Capella Hotels and Resorts. “The exceptional and dedicated staff deliver unforgettable experiences to guests – constantly striving to ensure all their requests are fulfilled,” Schulze continued. “Every employee at Capella Pedregal is constantly thinking of new ways in their roles to innovate and create new experiences for guests so that although it is a familiar face you see, there is always a welcome surprise during every stay.
The oceanfront hotel features 96 rooms and suites, some boasting their own private plunge pools. Those looking for a little more luxury can book a one-, two-, or three-bedroom suite, offering experiences like cabana dining on the beach with a private chef or drinks around an outdoor firepit under the stars. Also on property is the 12,000-square foot Auriga spa, the vision of acclaimed spa designer Sylvia Sepielli. It features eight treatment ‘pods,’ a saltwater pool with waterfall, and treatments by U.K.-based Organic Pharmacy that are based on the lunar cycle.
The culinary team at Capella Pedregal helped earn these accolades, with three distinguished men at the helm. Food and Beverage Director Marco Bustamante previously worked at Thomas Keller’s Michelin-starred Per Se in New York City; Executive Chef Yvan Mucharraz came from the kitchens of The French Laundry in Napa and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Paris; and Wine Director Juan Carlos Flores Mazón has represented Mexico in the international World Sommelier Competition and won the title of “Champion Sommelier” in 2004.
Each of the three dining options at Capella Pedregal features traditional, authentic flavors of Baja. Putting a modern twist on classic techniques, Don Manuel’s restaurant prepares local ingredients that are grown just for the hotel; the alfresco El Farallón restaurant serves up fresh catches right next to the crashing waves; The Beach Club is a more casual setting located poolside that features sashimi and ceviches.
