If some of the settings in The Descendants starring George Clooney, premiering on November 18, seem especially luxurious, it’s no mere Hollywood mirage – parts of the movie were filmed at the posh St. Regis Princeville Resort in Kaua’i, Hawaii.
Scenes were shot in resort’s lobby as well as in the luxurious Presidential Suite, which Clooney actually occupied during filming. The beautifully appointed 1,800-square-foot suite offers a generous residential-style blend of glamour and comfort and is located on the hotel’s top floor, affording wraparound views of Hanalei Bay and the surrounding mountains.
The luxury resort was a natural choice as it featured in the book upon which the movie is based. Perched on the cliffs of Kaua’i’s North Shore, the resort offers luxurious amenities including St. Regis’s signature Butler service, the 10,000-square-foot Halele‘a Spa and Jean-Georges’ Kaua‘i Grill, in addition to two premiere golf courses, a spectacular infinity pool, and more.
In addition to Clooney, Alicia Keys, Scott Caan, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck and Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner have all been guests at the stunning property.
