COMO Hotels and Resorts, owners of the Bhutanese lodges Uma by COMO, Paro and Punakha, Bhutan, have partnered with global aircraft charter company Chapman Freeborn to offer travelers a seven-night luxury vacation in the Kingdom of Bhutan including round-trip private jet transportation. Chapman Freeborn is the only private charter broker with permission to fly in and out of the kingdom, making the “Luxury Himalayan Escape” package a one-of-a-kind experience.
"At COMO we pride ourselves on delivering the finest individually tailored guest experiences,” said Norman Luxemburg, general manager of Uma by Paro, Bhutan. “Our partnership with Chapman Freeborn on the Luxury Himalayan Escape takes this concept to the next level, allowing guests to experience a seamless, door-to-door travel experience." Depending on their departure point, guests can charter anything from a Cessna Citation to a Gulfstream G450 into Bhutan's Paro airport. All aircraft have VIP configuration capabilities, with larger planes offering bedroom and dining areas.
"As the one and only air charter specialist with permission to fly in to Bhutan, we are thrilled about this unique alliance as it provides our high-end clientele with a discreet yet hugely exclusive experience that is second-to-none," added Alex Berry, Sales and Marketing Director at Chapman Freeborn. In addition to air travel, the package includes four nights at COMO's Uma Paro lodge in the Paro Valley, and three nights at Uma Punakha, which is situated further north in the Punakha Valley. Both lodges offer guests full-board accommodations, including a personal butler and access to massages and other health and wellness treatments.
The experiential adventure also includes hiking and day excursions to landmarks such as Punakha Dzong and Thimphu. Guests also can go whitewater rafting on the Mo Chu River, participate in one-on-one conversations with local monks about Buddhism, take a private yoga session with a Shambhala expert, and enjoy a hot stone bath for two.
