Last week, an agreement was made between Auberge Resorts, Adventurous Journeys Capital Parnters, and vintners Bill Foley and Michael Uytengsu to acquire Napa Valley’s award-winning Calistoga Ranch. Auberge has been operating the five-star property since it opened in 2004, which has frequently been named as one of the best resorts in the world and featured on coveted lists by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure.
"Auberge Resorts has been involved with Calistoga Ranch since it was on the drawing table, and we have been proud to see it acclaimed as one of the best resorts in the world," said CEO of Auberge Resorts Mark Harmon. "We are so pleased to add Calistoga Ranch to our portfolio, and we're excited to have such esteemed partners in this venture who share our commitment to the Napa Valley and to creating an exceptional luxury resort experience in this very special destination."
Chicago-based hospitality and real estate investment firm AJ Capital Partners is known for its ability to acquire and develop popular hotels located in highly sought after resort destinations. Along with Auberge, they currently own and operate many distinct properties around the world. Also jumping on board are two well respected vintners, founder of Foley Family Wines, Bill Foley and founding partner of Tusk Estates, Michael Uytengsu.
Foley’s collection of wineries include Foley Estate Vineyards and Winery, Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards and Winery, Merus, Firestone Vineyard and Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery, while Tusk Estates is known for being an exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon producer in Napa Valley. "We are thrilled about our partnership with Auberge Resorts and look forward to working with Mark Harmon and his team to take Calistoga Ranch to the next level," said Bill Foley. "This was a natural alignment, given our deep ties to the community of Napa Valley."
Calistoga Ranch is located on 157 acres and features 50 cedar and copper lodges that promote an indoor-outdoor lifestyle with outdoor living rooms with forest views and private shower gardens. Also on property is the Bathhouse spa, Lakehouse Restaurant, a Cabernet vineyard, hiking trails, yoga and meditation area, fitness center and swimming pool. Rates start a $1,200 a night.
