Hotel Overview

As a guest of The Westin San Francisco Market Street, you'll find yourself inspired by the energy of San Francisco. Here, landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, the Transamerica Pyramid, and Chinatown await to fascinate and amaze.

Each of the 676 rooms affords sweeping downtown views while offering a refreshing retreat from the city's hurried pace. Experience a magnificent union of stylish décor and cosmopolitan appointments, and you'll agree you've found someplace truly distinctive.

The warm and inviting Union Square accommodations have been refurbished with metropolitan elegance in mind - combining a sleek, cosmopolitan décor with stunning settings. Marvel at the majesty of the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge, as waves of natural light and breathtaking views flood your room through floor-to-ceiling windows. Luxuriate with thoughtful comforts such as the Westin spa amenities and mini-bars stocked with tasty treats. Enjoy unparalleled slumber on your signature Heavenly Bed...which boasts a pillow-top mattress, three silky sheets, a down blanket, and five goose-feather pillows. It's the ultimate in relaxation.

Ducca will be creating an urban Venetian mecca in the heart of San Francisco, two cities thousands of miles apart, but surprisingly similar in culture and geography. Both cities are built aside, or in the case of Venice, atop, the water. This similar geography has shaped the culture of both places to rely upon the bounty of the sea and to flourish in trade and tourism. The rolling hills, vineyards, warm temperatures, and olive groves of northern California closely resemble northern Italy's wine region. In modern times, both cities have become urban hubs of commerce and culture.

The restaurant at the Westin San Francisco exudes the restless magic of Venice and the relaxed elegance of Northern California. The tone for the restaurant is set by two-twelve foot glowing transparent glass panels replicating Italian oil canvases of a Duce and his wife that separate the bar from the dining area. The centerpiece of the dining room is a modern interpretation of a traditional Venetian glass chandelier. Seating areas that are separated by large booths create a warm intimacy that invites guests to unwind and linger over meals. By day, the restaurant at the Westin San Francisco is an airy space with casual seating which spills into the al fresco dining terrace. As night falls, the al fresco terrace becomes a large outdoor lounge with communal tables, lounge seating and fire pits to keep guests warm on foggy San Francisco evenings.

The color palate is influenced by the spice trade of Venice. The color palate of ginger, mustard, paprika, sage, cinnamon, is rich, yet subtle and reminiscent of an open Italian marketplace. The Northern Italian inspired cuisine is light and refreshing with a focus on the sea and big flavors of lemon, garlic, and fresh herbs all prepared and served in a smart yet understated style.
