Luxury hotel brand One&Only announced that its first hotel and resort in China will open in early 2014. China’s first One&Only is being raised on Tufu Bay in Sanya, Hainan, China. Tufu Bay looks out onto the South China Sea. There are several luxury hotel brands, such as Mandarin Oriental, with hotels and resorts in Sanya, the southernmost city in the People’s Republic of China.

The One&Only Sanya resort will place an emphasis on privacy and luxury while evoking a “sense of place” that showcases the natural elements of Sanya. The deluxe hotel and resort, which is being built on 40 acres of private coastline, will have 180 guestrooms and villas available on the mixed-use luxury property.

Kerzner International Holdings Ltd., Hainan Gezhouba Industrial Company Ltd., and Greentown Hotel Management Co., Ltd, will develop and operate the One&Only Sanya resort.
