Hotel Overview
Twenty two masks carved from local pietra serena stone, some classical and some grotesque, decorate the facade of Villa Le Maschere, one of the most beautiful late Renaissance country homes in Tuscany. Pleasantly situated in the hills of the Mugello near the Bilancino Lake, Villa Le Maschere was the subject of a 5 year-long restoration and has been reborn as a 5-star resort. Le Maschere is a place of great historical and architectural value, but with its special emphasis on contemporary interior design it is also a superb expression of the world-famous "Made in Italy".
Accommodations
Villa Le Maschere boasts 65 bedrooms and suites all varied in their decoration, fabrics and furnishings. Careful restorations have brought back to life their frescoes, majolica, sculpture and stuccoes, restoring to the rooms the ancient splendour they knew when they hosted popes, noblemen and artists.
All the rooms have: desk, LCD television with satellite channels, air conditioning with remote control, free high speed internet connections, personal safe, hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, telephones with conference function and message service, radio, minibar and smoke detector.

II Piopponero restaurant welcomes hosts in an absorbing and evocative atmosphere. The style includes unusual tones of grey in the decoration, the fabrics, the mosaic floors, and precious stuccoes on the walls. French doors open into the beautiful terrace designed by Foggini, where from spring to fall it is possible to dine.
Il Cancello di Ghiereto
The dominant motifs of this restaurant are the green of the fabric, the prints and the floral designs in the great lamps, which re-evoke the romantic park surrounding the Villa. The great windows, the freshness of the colours, the stone floor and the garden furniture, make the restaurant the natural extension of the beautiful environment that surrounds the villa.

The brick vaults of the ancient cellars of the palace have been cleverly restored and renovated. The rustic decor of these historic spaces creates the perfect atmosphere for wine tasting and traditional dinners. The wine gallery connects the hall with the other restaurants through the villa's ancient passageways.

In this perfect setting, Chef Fabio Matteo Danzo leads his cooking classes, through hands-on experience, on a culinary tour of the senses. Chef Danzo has served as Chef at 5-Star luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Italy, the US, the UK, France and Japan. He has taught cooking in Italy and the US and has published cookbooks in Italian and English. He passes his experience and passion on to you through his cooking class at Villa Le Maschere.
Your class will begin by selecting from the region's freshest ingredients that the day has to offer. You will then prepare your meal just as the Chef does every day for guests at the Hotel's Il Pioppo Nero restaurant. His attention to detail is passed on to you, as a result of his passion for sharing his creativity and culinary gifts with others.
