Starting earlier this week, reservations became available for the newest member of the Ritz-Carlton family located in Rancho Mirage. The property opens on May 15 and features 30,000 square feet of meeting space, extraordinary dining opportunities and a two-story spa.
Traveling with a number of people used to mean a reserving a number of individual rooms or suites, but The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, has introduced an idea to change things up. They have created a Privacy Wing just for guests traveling with an entourage. The Ritz-Carlton suite, which itself boasts 2,385 square feet of luxurious accommodations, is at the helm for this veritable private hotel within a hotel. The wing will offer four supplemental rooms and suites that connect and face each other.
Kyoto, Japan recently saw the opening of what is being claimed to be its "first truly international luxury hotel and Japan's first urban resort" with The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto being added to the stellar chain's lineup of resorts.
As part of The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel’s rotating art series, artist, author and filmmaker Paul Davids will be showcasing his Collaboration Portfolio at the resort from February 8 to April 30, 2014. Featuring tributes to Vincent van Gogh and Andy Warhol, Davids and fellow artist Russell Metzger created 13 three-dimensional oil paintings on canvas and wood, integrating fabrics, polished stone, dyes and epoxy resins.

This year’s theme “Spirit of Giving” has been named in honor of the hotel’s Community Footprints partners: Surfers Healing, Friends of Orange County’s Homeless Pets, Canine Companions for Independence, Socks for Heroes, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Orange County Rescue Mission, Olive Crest, Operation Helping Hands, and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Another big name in the luxury hotel industry has announced its plan to continue expansion into Asia. Ritz-Carlton revealed they would be opening a new hotel in first quarter 2015 in Nanjing, China, one of the country’s four great ancient capitals.
