The 700 islands and cays that make up the archipelago of the Bahamas offer a variety of vacation experiences from which to choose. Anyone familiar with the breathtaking emerald clear waters of the Bahamas knows the true treasures are the Bahamas Out Islands. We invite you to escape the stresses of life and visit Bimini Bay Resort and Marina, located on the northern tip of the island of North Bimini. Known as the gateway to the Bahamas, it is the closest island, only 48 nautical miles off the coast of South Florida, a quick 25-minute flight by air, or a short 1-2 hour boat ride across the Bahamian Channel.
Accommodations
All guest accommodations are designed with "beachy chic" décor and are beautifully appointed with such amenities as oversized couches with a contemporary feel, granite kitchen countertops, porcelain top stoves, coffee and coffee makers, refrigerators, microwaves, iron and ironing board, extra linens, washer and dryer, AC, color televisions, high-speed internet (at an additional cost) and AM/FM clock radio.
Dining
Resort guests can satisfy their cravings for a gourmet Italian pizza or some light and tasty gelato by visiting Amicci's Pizzeria and Gelateria, situated in the resort's Fisherman's Village marketplace. This gourmet Italian Bistro offers indoor and al fresco seating with a menu of items such as fresh paninis, assorted gelato flavors, coffee drinks, pastries and gourmet pizzas.
The Marina
The resort features the largest state of the art marina in the Bahamas with 230 slips. The two marinas are equipped with concrete floating docks, one accommodating mega yachts up to 203 feet and one accommodating boats up to 128 feet. Our Controlling depth at Bimini is 12 feet mlw. Amenities at the marina include a weigh-in station, restrooms, a dock master's office, ice, onsite customs and immigration, 24-hour security, tie up assistance and dock assistance for transfer of luggage and supplies, single and three phase power as well as daily trash pick-up. The Marina at Bimini Bay Resort forms the centerpiece of the resort and is located next to the Fisherman's Village. This full-service, luxury facility is comprised of 134 slips that can accommodate boats from 40 feet to 130 feet.
Scuba Diving
The intriguing underwater world of Bimini offers a variety of dives for visitors including walls, reefs, and wrecks. With an average warm temperature of low 70's to high 80's, diving is an activity that everyone should experience at least once in their life. Different dives include the Bimini Barge, a massive tug that rests in 90 feet of water with the top of the wreck rising to 65 feet; Tuna Alley (named due to annual migration of tuna through the area); The Strip, a shallow water dive site known for its nocturnal activity such as large sea turtles; and Bimini Roads, a must-see dive in Bimini that claims to being part of the Lost City of Atlantis. Dives range from 15-130 feet depending on experience and each trip is supervised by Bimini Undersea's professional dive staff. You only the need to have the ability to swim. |
