Hotel Overview
Turtle Island is an all-inclusive, private island home to only 14 couples at a time. The breathtaking panoramas of the renowned Blue Lagoon and neighboring Yasawa Islands can be seen from your spacious Fijian villa. Gentle winds carry the scent of tropical flowers and the warm, azure waters at our 14 private beaches beckon you to relax. The cuisine, prepared with fresh seafood from local waters and fruits and vegetables grown on the island, is a culinary delight. Turtle Island offers a cultural experience where you are embraced as family by gentle, engaging, noble hosts.
Accommodations
During your stay at this exotic island retreat, your home will be one of only 14 private villas, or "bures" - traditional, authentic, eco-friendly, two-room cottages built by Fijian craftsmen. Spacious, romantic, and wonderfully relaxing, light spills in from windows that overlook the tranquil waters of the Blue Lagoon while gentle winds carry the intoxicating scent of tropical blossoms through the breezy interiors.
Each luxurious bure provides separate sleeping, dressing, and bathing areas, as well as a bar stocked with drinks and fresh tropical fruit, Bose CD players, and Pure Fiji body products.
Every Grand bure has a king-size bed, extensive dressing area, writing desk, walk-in double shower, hot tub, outdoor open air rinsing shower, and a veranda with queen-size day bed for napping in the sun-flecked shade of the palms overhead. The Deluxe bure has a king-size bed, bathroom with two showers, a rattan furnished sitting room, a writing desk, a queen-size day bed, and an outdoor open air rinsing shower. Each bure is slightly different in design and layout, reflecting the uniqueness of the setting, with bespoke art and design. Many bures are named after some of the past guests, including "Brooke's Bure" (Brooke Shields), "Ratu Mara Bure" (former Fiji President).
Dining
Every night there is a dinner party held at several different locations around this private island.
Whether the party is dining in the garden, the top of Mt Ford, or at one end of the beach or the other, a sumptuous cuisine and an unlimited supply of fine wines and cocktails are served under the stars and lantern light. In addition to this there is the prospect of guests enjoying remote private dining for two in romantic and intimate settings.
Turtle Island has earned a reputation for dining on a world class scale, including recognition for the best food in Fiji by Travel & Leisure readers. In 2006, consistent with this accolade, Turtle was again voted by Travel & Leisure magazine as being the only property in Fiji to make the
"World's Best Service" list.
Renowned French-born chef Jacques Reymond - regarded as the leading fine dining chef in Australia - is Turtle Island's food consultant. Turtle Island's chefs, skilled in island living and cooking, create one-of-a-kind dishes out of the bounty of fresh seafood and organic fruits and vegetables that are grown in the island's own four-acre organic vegetable garden.
Spa
Every guest receives a complimentary half-hour Lomi-Lomi Massage.
You're welcome to organize additional massages during your Turtle Island vacation at the rate of $120 per hour (US dollars).
The unique "Lomi-Lomi" healing massage technique has been handed down through Hawaiian families for generations, and is profoundly healing and nurturing. Lomi-Lomi massages can be given by a single practitioner, or with two working together--double the bliss!
This type of healing massage is predicated on the belief that the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual parts of the body are all part of the "whole self." Thus, the intent of the Lomi-Lomi massage is to free the energy flow by releasing stress and tension in the body to restore balance and harmony.
