La Residence des Cascades has 210 comfortable and graciously appointed guest rooms plus 39 luxurious suites, all with views of the sea and the Cascades Championship Golf Course.
All rooms include a large bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower. Standard amenities include a private balcony, satellite TV, mini-bar, mini-safe, air-conditioning, electronic door locks and easy access to the Internet. A limited number of rooms are equipped for handicap use.
La Residence also offers a number of luxurious one and two bedroom suites with spectacular views of the Cascades Golf Course and the sea. Most suites can be combined with a connecting room to form two or theree bedroom apartment complexes.
Dining
La Résidence offers a variety of dining experiences. In addition to "a la carte" selections, all restaurants offer dietetic menus, designed especially for those undergoing nutritional programs at Les Thermes Marins des Cascades.
Spa
For centuries the waters and sands surrounding Soma Bay have been renowned for their richness and natural healing power; the ideal base for effective thalasso-therapy.
Les Thermes Marins des Cascades is an integral part of La Residence, easily accessible from all guest rooms. It has been established and is operated in cooperation with "Les Thermes Marins de Saint-Malo" of France.
The Spa & Thalasso Center is one of the largest thalasso-therapy centers in the region. Treatment highlights include an 750 m2 Aquatonic Pool, fitness and nutrition programs, a variety of hydrotherapies, in addition to seaweed wraps, underwater massages, "sea mist" room, beauty care and post-natal recuperation programs.
Golf
La Residence is located at the center of a dramatic golf course which combines the best of links and desert features. The Cascades Championship Golf Course is designed by Gary Player, one of the "Big Three" (along with Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer).
The 18 hole, par 72 course has lush green fairways that contrast dramatically with the rugged desert and the clear blue waters of the surrounding sea.
Adjacent to the course, is a 9 hole, par 3 Golf Academy Course, also designed by Gary Player. It offers both the beginner and the more advanced golfer the opportunity to practice a variety of shots with emphasis on the short game.
There are also extensive practice facilities, including a 60 bay driving range, and several putting and pitching practice greens. Individual and group tuition by PGA Golf Professionals is also available.
Diving
The waters of the Red Sea are world famous for their teeming marine life. Soma Bay offers ideal conditions for snorkeling and SCUBA diving. Directly off the Soma Bay shores, and in several reef clusters nearby, are some of the best dive sites to be found anywhere in the Red Sea.
Soma Bay's Dive Center, run by Orca Dive Clubs, is one of the largest and most well-equipped in the Red Sea and serves all of the resorts within Soma Bay from its privileged location on the House Reef. It offers all the expected facilities of a comprehensive dive center catering to both the advanced and beginner diver.
The Center has a number of unique features including a 420-meter jetty extending directly from the Dive Center to the House Reef, a fleet of dedicated dive boats and professional staff, as well as a large turquoise-blue lagoon at the front of the reef which provides sheltered waters ideal for training.
