Hotel Overview
Since 1906, The Westin Excelsior, Rome has hosted celebrities, statesmen and artists visiting the Eternal City. The hotel, which was named to Conde Nast Traveler's 2007 Gold List, enjoys a prime location in the celebrated Via Veneto district.
Accommodations
Via Veneto Suite
The three Via Veneto Suites are situated on the corner of the façade under the Cupola of the hotel. The decor is in Biedermeier style, with practical and comfortable Empire style furniture including the Westin Heavenly Bed, Bohemian chandeliers and a spacious living room. The living room features a beautiful marble floor and non-working fireplace, and overlooks Via Veneto. Each of the suites is 65 square meters.
Imperial Suite
Rich colors and fine furnishings adorn the expansive Imperial suites, which feature multiple living and working areas and a private balcony. Custom carpets add comfort underfoot, while a painted fresco on the ceiling of the master bedroom strikes a gracious note overhead.
Villa Cupola
The largest suite in Europe extends over two full floors and 11,700 square feet, culminating in a living room topped by the hotel's soaring 40-foot cupola, its surface covered in frescoes. A central part of the hotel's $40 million renovation, Villa Cupola is available with up to six bedrooms, has a rich paneled dining room that seats 10 and a private fitness room, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi and sun deck. There's also a boardroom and private 8-seat theater with wide screen and teleconferencing facilities.
Dining
Chef, James Foglieni, is glad to invite you to the Doney Restaurant. A grand buffet is available for lunch and an a la carte menu both for lunch and dinner. Both feature Mediterranean Cuisine, based on fresh, light products, such as fresh pasta, vegetables or fish. Among the dishes, many would like to recommend: ravioli pasta with pumpkin with shrimp sauce, typical Gragnano's pasta with asparagus and bottarga (dried fish eggs), tuna with potatoes crust, millefeuille of Catalan lobster, beef fillet with Patanegra ham, celery and parmesan cheese, creme brulee with berries, crispy millefeuille with chocolate flakes and wild strawberries.
Spa
A relaxing spa atmosphere is created before your massage starts with your spa basket holding a flower, healthful treat, bottle of water, and a letter with recommendations on how to make the most of your in-room spa experience.
The basket also contains a spa music CD to be played before and during your treatment as well as a selection of plant based aromatherapy oils and room sprays allowing you to choose your own scent for the treatment.
Meetings & EventsTheir superb service extends to help you host social and business events in inimitable style. The decor in the flexible meeting spaces is dramatic and the catering, meetings preparation and technology staffs are at your command.
Ten venues encompass 14,000 sq ft of meeting space with rooms suitable for as few as five or as many as 1,000. The Winter Garden is the sumptuous, Empire-style centerpiece with gilded columns, plaster medallions and colorful stained glass ceiling.
