The Chamber's 60 spacious rooms and suites all have the seductive qualities of high ceilings, large windows that open and abundant natural light. Renowned designer David Rockwell created soothing modernistic interiors emphasizing comfort, proportions, and a monochromatic color scheme with the color and energy added through original pieces of contemporary artwork.
Chambers Kitchen, located on two levels of Chambers hotel, is an open, inviting and informal 190-seat restaurant with world renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten at the helm. Here you will find the service and cuisine of a fine dining restaurant without the attitude. This David Rockwell designed establishment is comprised of a street-level café with abundant natural and city lighting, adjacent to the hotel lobby. Surrounded by art - Damien Hirst on the wall, and Jean-Georges on the plate, you are in the middle of two of the world's most respected modern artists.
The country's first luxury art hotel, Chambers features over 200 pieces of original contemporary art work from the private collection of the hotel's owner Ralph Burnet. Edgy and controversial pieces from the Young British Artist movement can be spotted throughout the hotel by renowned artists Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Angus Fairhurst, Gary Hume, and Sam Taylor-Wood. Also featured in the hotel are art works by Indian artist Subodh Gupta, Asian artists Morimura and Ahn Sung-Ha, Canadian artist Evan Penny, and American artist Alec Soth among others. The collection includes an extensive array of paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and prints. The hotel also includes sculptures in the courtyard for guests to enjoy. Video art is present in all public areas screening 24 hours a day, including guest hallways, restrooms, at night on a wall in the courtyard, and on the TV in the guestrooms.
