Hotel Overview
Far from the maddening crowds, and just two hours north from Manhattan, lies Connecticut's Litchfield Hills, which is home to one of the country's most unique and private resorts: Winvian. Situated on 113 acres of private land and bordered by the 4,000-acre White Memorial Preserve this unconventional and extraordinary property enables our guests to relax and recharge. As a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux society and the only property in New England to feature a AAA 5-Diamond Restaurant & Hotel, Winvian ensures highest level of quality and service.
Accommodations
18 individually designed Cottages and 1 Master Suite, encompassing the entire second story of our historic Seth Bird House, were designed to inspire and amuse. Fifteen architects have extended their talents and vision, creating a hotel experience like none other. Our Treehouse and Beaver Lodge Cottages are just two of the Connecticut-themed luxury cottages at Winvian. Our Helicopter cottage incorporates a fully restored 1968 Sea King Pelican helicopter from Sikorsky aircraft that was retired by the Coast Guard. Finding the perfect campsite is not always an easy task and while "Camping" at Winvian, as if nestled into the ruins of a long forgotten garden, an old fashioned tent canopy ensures warmth and treats, extraordinary views by day and clear constellations by night. All this indulgence and no creepy crawlies!
Dining
Winvian's cuisine aims to suit guests' palate and mood. The chef and his team are culinary craftsmen who alternatively create healthy fare, delectable comfort food and sultry desserts. Experience cuisine at its best at this AAA 5-Diamond restaurant which is complemented by outstanding and eclectic finds from wineries around the globe. Winvian recently cultivated a large, fully sustainable garden to produce the freshest seasonal ingredients for our ever changing menus.
Spa
Winvians' Spa is a placed not to be rushed, with not a white coat in sight to prune or pluck. Gently stretch alone or with a yoga master in our meditation lounge, spend the day being pampered with a capital P or simply rest, for as long as you wish, in the Sunlight Sauna. To enhance the Winvian experience, they introduce a product range unique to these hills, gentle yet pioneering: REN. REN pioneered the concept of "clean products" believing that skincare could and should be different. Products that are the forefront of technology, with effective and active formulations and that are a pleasure to use with absolutely no man-made ingredients.
Meetings & Events
A space where people can dine and dance the night away or swirl martinis and mingle. The Gordon Brown House is rustic-chic with all the modern necessities, including screening capabilities, two bars and a roll-in roll-out kitchen suited for all types of catering, a courtyard where to linger al fresco or set up a tent for large events. The Executive Boardroom is a fully autonomous, state of the art private building designed to serve up to 24 individuals with an executive assistant area in the entrance. This modern building is nestled into a rolling meadow overlooking the sustainable gardens. |
