Labeled as the Mega Flavors, Mega Suites package, the W South Beach in Miami Beach just recently unveiled a partnership with James Beard Award-winner Chef Andrew Carmellini to offer a whole new way to experience a luxuriously hearty in-room dining option.
While a room service-oriented package would seemingly imply having prepared food delivered directly to your door, this particular offering puts a bit of a new spin on things. Rather than have a full meal arrive, guests will instead receive the ingredients for one of two menu options in order to create their own dishes right in-room. (We’ll call it quality bonding time.) Since the 917-square-foot suite comes equipped with a rooftop BBQ as well as an in-suite kitchenette, it’s a fun alternative to eating out. Both meals come with instructions for preparation so you won’t have to go at it alone, and don't worry about dishes because you can still have room service just come and pick up the mess you make. Cooking is the fun part, right? It's the dishes nobody likes.
The two options are: The Dutch’s Dry-Aged Prime Burgers with cheddar cheese, sesame seed buns and some of the chef's secret sauce, or a 40-oz. Dry-Aged Grilled Beef Ribeyes & King Crab Legs with salad and veggies.
For those who would prefer to have someone else handle the cooking (as to avoid accidental kitchen fires), a private chef can come to the suite as well and fix the meal for an extra $200 per hour. But then again, that really seems like it would take a lot of the fun out of the whole experience. In addition to the meal, guests will also receive a signed cookbook from Chef Carmellini, which promises to offer valuable insight into his wonderful flavors and culinary style. The Mega Flavors, Mega Suites package is priced at $2,100 for both nights, excluding extra add-ons.
