After a makeover to its waterside eatery, The Ritz-Carlton, Marina Del Rey’s reimagined restaurant Cast & Plow has opened this past March. Using fresh, local ingredients, including a collection of organic elements, it will offer traditional Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine with Californian flavors crafted by Chef Umit Kaygusuz and Executive Sous Chef Javier Bravo.
"We all benefit from knowing more about the source of our food and its journey from seed to harvest to table,” said Kaygusuz. Adhering to this concept, dishes will use herbs grown on the hotel's grounds and the ingredients will come from local growers and farmers markets through the Marina del Rey and Santa Monica region. Delightful flavors visitors should expect to encounter include smoked rib eye, cress, shrimp, Marcona almonds, Baja scallops, organic butter and crafted ice cream.
The waterfront restaurant's setting has also been shown as much attention as its menu. The spacious, airy atmosphere benefits tremendously from sweeping views of the marina and a number of seating options are available for larger groups. From meals on Cast & Plow's terrace to fireside dining in the restaurant or sipping on local wines and in-house spirits at the bar, there's a lot to be enjoyed at this new eatery. Cast & Plow is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night dining and Sunday brunch.
