Recently we had the privilege of visiting the Four Seasons Westlake, where we discovered some of the awesome amenities the property has available to guests. (Complimentary Wi-Fi and foot massages anyone?) While we were there, we were made aware of yet another great offering about to be unveiled in the form of a new café venue called Stir.
Just opened this month, Stir sits in the grand lobby of the hotel, complementing the dining options already on-property. Prior to the opening, guests had access to sit-down options including the Lobby Lounge Restaurant, ONYX, and a Tasting Room for wine aficionados alongside the typical in-room and poolside menus. Stir now adds the option of bistro-style dining with both outdoor and indoor seating, along with easy take-and-go items for guests in a hurry.
Speaking of in a hurry, the new space will actually feature some cutting-edge coffee technology in the form of a self-serve “smart coffee” system. The display will let patrons order drinks and then pay right from their smartphones. Pretty high tech for coffee service.
Featuring Portland’s Stumptown Coffee, this will be the first time Four Seasons has chosen to partner with a coffee roaster and it’s easy to see why the hotelier chose them. Stumptown is committed to the relationships they nurture with coffee farmers, “ensuring quality and fair prices, and allowing Stumptown to provide input in the coffee bean growing and harvesting process.” Stir will offer an array of the company’s signature and seasonal blends.
The menu has been brought to life by Executive Chef Jesse Hansen as well as Pastry Chef David Couch who have created a selection that includes baked items such as a Westlake citrus marmalade scone with orange glaze, gluten-free chocolate chip muffins, and zucchini walnut bread. Savory options include vegan soups, paninis, salads, sandwiches and seasonal fruit. The new eatery will also feature energy bars, fresh pressed juices, handmade gelato and even chocolate treats.
Between artisanal coffee offerings and high-class bistro fare, Stir adds a whole new element to the Four Seasons Westlake, heartily rounding out the dining options on the property.
