Hotel Overview
Once a stately mansion bought by a Mexican general for his fiancee, InterContinental Presidente Merida blends original Art Nouveau style and thoroughly modern conveniences. The hotel is a short walk from the Siglo XXI Convention Centre, the Governor's Palace and the Cathedral. Worth the drive are Izamal and the ancient Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza.
Frutas y Floras is the epitome of Yucatecan cuisine - a mix of Spanish, Mayan and European flavours introduced during the colonial era. Breakfast features an à la carte menu and a buffet laden with fresh fruit, pastries and hot items, followed by lunch and dinner menus punctuated with native spices and condiments. Local traditional dishes include Panuchos con Cochinita, Risotto Mozzarella and Basil, Lime Soup, Salmon Filet with Butter Menier and Capers, and Caramel Flan.
